However, the main questions that affect Reyes’ major-league career still linger over Reyes’ future and the Rockies.

Questions, questions, and more questions.

Will Reyes ever play in a Rockies uniform again? If so, how will the fans react? Will the Rockies attempt to trade him? Will the Rockies release him and essentially eat the approximately $41 million still owed on his contract?

These are the many questions that fans and media wonders. They are questions Rockies owner Dick Monfort and general manager Jeff Bridich must faced in the next incoming weeks.

This is what happened.

Reyes was suspended Friday without pay through May 31 for violated Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy. In total, his suspension will span 51 regular-season games.

Reyes agreed to the terms of the suspension, which stems from an incident in a Hawaii hotel room Oct. 31. Reyes’ wife told Maui police that he pulled her off a hotel bed and grabbed her throat, then shoved her into a sliding glass balcony door, according to a local news report.

Reyes pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in November. He was scheduled for trial in Hawaii on April 4, but his case was dropped after prosecutors said they could not get Reyes’ wife to testify.
