Elon University’s baseball team has suspended sophomore infielder Joseph Edgar Satterfield III for a “violation of team rules,” after he was arrested Friday morning.
Town of Elon Police arrested Satterfield in the early morning hours April 20 after he made an “unauthorized entry into 606 East Haggard Avenue,” according to an arrest report obtained by Elon News Network.
The 20-year-old Elon baseball player was also charged with underage drinking. He was taken to Alamance County Detention Center, where he was released on a $1000 bond late Friday morning.
His court date is set for May 8.
Satterfield has started in 36 games this year and won the Team’s Coaches Award and a Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week Award in 2017.
Satterfield has not returned ENN’s request for comment.
