ATLANTA, GA — A star football player at a prestigious Buckhead private school has been charged with sexually attacking a female classmate.
WSB-TV reports that the varsity player at Pace Academy was arrested Wednesday and is accused of two counts of aggravated sexual battery in two attacks, which allegedly happened during lunchtime at the school in the fall.
The mother of a former student at Pace told WSB that her daughter was walking out of the school’s Fine Arts Center when a student grabbed her by the wrist and forced himself on her.

“I’m upset,” the woman told the station. “(Pace Academy) had a duty to her and they failed her. They failed her miserably.”
The station is not identifying the woman to protect her daughter’s identity. Her alleged attacker, who is 16, is not being identified because he is a minor.
A police report cited by WSB said the alleged attacker let the girl go after he fought back. A few weeks later, the report said, he tried to attack her again but she managed to get away and report him to a school counselor.
The girl’s mother told the station she withdrew her daughter from the school when officials refused to suspend the boy and questioned her daughter’s story. She has hired an attorney, WSB reported.
In a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Pace Academy said the boy is no longer a student there and that the school is cooperating with police.
