William H. Jenkins Jr., the brother of a New York Giants player accused of killing a man in his brother’s New Jersey home, was apprehended at an Ontario County gas station, according to New York State Police.

Jenkins, 34, was charged Wednesday with aggravated manslaughter in connection with the death of Roosevelt Rene, whose body was found in a Fair Lawn, N.J., home belonging to Giants’ cornerback Janoris Jenkins.

William and Janoris Jenkins are brothers.

Rene, 25, was found at noon Tuesday in the basement of the home, where William Jenkins lived, according to the Bergen County, N.J., Prosecutor’s Office. Rene had been living at the house recently and appeared to work with Janoris Jenkins on music ventures, according to several Instagram posts.

Rene was a music producer who went by the name Trypps Beatz. He and William Jenkins got into a fight early Monday that ended with Rene dead, according to court documents.

New York State Police said troopers were called to the Expressmart on Collett Road in Farmington, near Route 332, around 10:30 p.m. Monday to investigate a suspicious person.

William Jenkins told the responding trooper that he had been in the store waiting to buy fuel for more than two hours, troopers said. The trooper, who learned that William Jenkins did not have a valid driver’s license and was on parole for a drug conviction, summoned a parole officer.

Troopers said they believe William Jenkins may have been traveling to the Geneva area, where he previously lived.
