The Lawrence Journal world reports — the 14 year-old faces counts of low-level felony theft and misdemeanor, criminal use of weapons.
The paper reports the teen stole a 9 mm handgun from his parents Christmas Day.
Administrators at Lawrence High School say another student reported the situation.
School officials say there was no incident or threat made with the weapon.
The teen’s next court date is January 24th.
