San Francisco police have obtained an arrest warrant for former Raiders and 49ers pass rusher Aldon Smith, the department announced Monday.

Former Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith turned himself in to the San Francisco Police Department on Tuesday afternoon,police confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.
Smith was released from custody after posting $30,000 bond on Tuesday.
“As a result of the evidence obtained from the investigation, Mr. Smith will be charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic violence, assault, false imprisonment and vandalism,” San Francisco District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Alex Bastian said in an email to USA TODAY Sports.
Smith, 28, who was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2011, hasn’t played since 2015. He still was listed on the Raiders’ reserve/suspended list before being officially released on Monday.
The San Francisco Police Department issued a statement Sunday saying it was looking for Smith and noted that the NFL player “fled the scene” after a victim “suffered non-life-threatening injuries” from an incident that occurred around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Smith was detained for public intoxication last year after a car crash with an unmarked police car. Also last year, he and a female were the subject of an investigation into an alleged domestic incident in San Francisco.
In 2014, police arrested Smith on suspicion of making a false bomb threat at the Los Angeles International Airport. During the 2014 season, he missed nine games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
And in 2013, Smith turned himself in on three felony counts for possessing illegal assault weapons after a stabbing incident. The charges were dropped to misdemeanors.
