DERBY — A Derby soccer player was arrested Wednesday after being accused of punching an opponent from Torrington during a September game, according to the Republican-American.

The Derby player was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, according to the report. She was not named by police, as she is a juvenile.

She is one of two players accused of striking the Torrington player during the game, the Republican-American reports. The other player has not been arrested to date.
