Mebane man charged with statutory rape of child


A Mebane man is charged with the statutory rape of a child after investigators looked into his relationship with an underage female, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit.Detectives began the investigation on Aug. 12 and interviewed the underage female and Daniel Brian Straughan Jr., 28. His bond is set at $75,000.

A Mebane man is charged with the statutory rape of a child after investigators looked into his relationship with an underage female, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit.
