3 Taunton men charged after playing golf in RI, violating state’s quarantine order

Three Massachusetts men are facing charges for violating Rhode Island’s quarantine order during the coronavirus outbreak.Rhode Island’s governor issued an executive order that requires out-of-state visitors to quarantine after they cross the border into the state.The men allegedly parked their cars at a McDonald’s restaurant in Richmond, loaded their golf clubs into a vehicle with Rhode Island license plates and went to play golf, according to the Providence Journal.Police said the men, Gregory S. Corbett, 51, of Attleboro; Tyler E. Pietrzyk, 22, of Taunton; and Nye M. Cameron, 22, of Taunton, played a round of golf at the Meadowbrook Golf Course, the newspaper reported.There were signs posted at the course saying it was only open to Rhode Island residents.The men are scheduled to appear in court in May.
