Chargers defender Kyzir White charged after high-speed joy ride

Los Angeles Chargers defensive starter and former West Virginia star Kyzir White has been charged with reckless driving after exceeding 100 miles per hour and making an improper lane change, according to TMZ Sports. According to court documents, White was stopped in Orange County, Calif. on March 14, but specific details of what happened after remain unclear.

White, who is entering his third season in the NFL, was officially charged after the incident with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving — which carries a maximum of 90 days in jail and a fine if convicted, per TMZ Sports.

White, nor the Chargers, have commented on the incident.

With 10 starts over his first two years with the franchise, White is expected to be the man in the middle at linebacker this season after coming into his own with extensive snaps last fall. Regarded as one of the more nimble linebackers in the NFL according to RotoWorld, White’s ability to cover made him a reliable player on third down for the Chargers.

Playing around 2020 pounds, White has the body size of a safety, but is known for his tenacity and willingness to put his face in the fan, so to speak.
