King County prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old Seattle high school student with the rape of a classmate outside a house party in November.

Jackson Sullivan, who played for West Seattle High School’s baseball team, was arrested on investigation of second-degree rape charges late last month. He posted a $350,000 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment June 4. (Court documents show the timeline was delayed because of the coronavirus.)

Interviews with several witnesses and classmates, detailed in charging documents, allege Sullivan has what the police described as other “alarming” sexual assault accusations. The police investigation into Sullivan is still ongoing, and could result in more charges, the document stated; so far, according to the documents, three other young women have accused Sullivan of nonconsensual sexual contact.

The 16-year-old who reported she was assaulted in November now has court-ordered protection from Sullivan.

The Seattle Times could not reach Sullivan. His mother declined to comment on the allegations.

The initial investigation that led to his charges was lengthy. More than five months passed between when the assault was reported and his arrest on April 29.

The process of interviewing everyone and witnesses (for a rape case) can take awhile,” said SPD Detective Patrick Michaud, who was not aware of the case when called, but spoke in general terms last week.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office “did a careful review of the totality of evidence” in the police investigation and determined it was worth charging Sullivan, said Casey McNerthney, a spokesman for the office.

Police documents reveal details from that evening and other alleged assaults.

Confidential support for survivors

If you have experienced sexual assault and need support, you can call the 24-hour National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673). There is also an online chat option.

Survivors in King County can call the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center’s 24-hour Resource Line at 888-99-VOICE (888-998-6423) or visit www.kcsarc.org/gethelp.

The 16-year-old girl was also a West Seattle High student. She said she’d been playing beer pong inside the November house party just before the assault, according to the documents. She’d had two drinks, she told police, but began to feel like she was blacking out after Sullivan handed her a third drink, which led her to suspect she might have been drugged.

She said her next memory is of the rape. After launching a “massive” search for her, friends found her in the van with the suspect, which was parked a short distance from the house, the documents said. They told police she was nonverbal, partially clothed and covered in her own vomit.

When they confronted Sullivan, the documents reported he said, “I thought she was good for it.” The documents stated a Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory test determined Sullivan’s DNA was present on the teen’s underwear and vaginal swabs.

As officers investigated the November incident, they learned of other alleged incidents of assaults, according to the charging documents.

Two were from Halloween night 2017. One girl said Sullivan sat next to her, draped a blanket over her legs, and penetrated her with his fingers while others were present. Another young woman, who fell asleep next to Sullivan at a different party, said she awoke to him doing the same thing.

At a party following a school dance in March 2019, another girl, who said she was intoxicated at the time, said Sullivan made advances despite her protests, and penetrated her with his fingers while they were both in his car.

A spokesman for Seattle Public Schools declined to comment on whether Sullivan was still enrolled at the district.

SALT LAKE CITY — A former University of Utah football player who was arrested last month on suspicion of raping a 17-year-old now faces three counts of rape and several other felony charges.

Terrell Maurice Perriman, 20, is charged with three counts of rape, two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of forcible sexual abuse, one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of burglary.

Perriman was initially arrested Jan. 30 after police say he raped a 17-year-old girl who he met over social media. At the time, he was listed on the university’s football roster as a redshirt freshman wide receiver. He no longer appears on the roster.

One of the new cases allegedly took place just two days before the incident he was originally arrested for. Court documents state that Perriman invited a woman to his residence, asked her when she was going to quit “teasing” him, forcefully removed her clothes and raped her despite her physically resisting and telling him she did not want to multiple times.

Another reported sexual assault took place between October and December 2018 when, according to court documents, Perriman was at a woman’s residence when he asked her to give him oral sex. Police say she told him no multiple times before he forced her to perform the act. Then, about one month later, Perriman reportedly texted the same woman to ask if she had a condom he could borrow. She said she did, and when he arrived handed it to him through the partially opened door. He then pushed the door open and entered her apartment and room, where he again forced her to perform oral sex.

As he ran through Australia on the fourth morning in Port Elizabeth, there was bad news for Kagiso Rabada filtering through from the ICC, with the Proteas paceman reported for his send-off of Australia vice-captain David Warner yesterday.

As he waits to find out whether he will be suspended for the remainder of the Test series for his making physical contact with Steve Smith on Friday, Rabada was hit with a Level 1 offence by the International Cricket Council today after screaming in the face of Warner having captured the opener’s wicket.

A Level 1 offence carries with it a maximum of 50 per cent match fee fine and two demerit points.

If he is cleared for the Smith incident by match referee Jeff Crowe, Rabada would not face suspension if given the maximum two demerit point penalty.

Rabada has been charged four times by the ICC, two of which have been for send-offs, an area of his game teammate AB de Villiers has urged the young charge to be smarter about.

“He’s got to be smarter and he knows that,” said de Villiers. “I don’t know what is going to happen to him after this Test but if he is around for the next Test match I think he would have learned from his mistakes.

Rabada roars on day four, completes 10-wicket haul

“There was a lot of emotion from that last Test match going into this one and once again as a fast bowler you want to prove things to people and you want to show everyone you belong on this stage.”

De Villiers added: “I think it’s up to some of our senior guys to just help him.

“It’s important to some of the players to get around him before he’s close(enough) to a batter to tell him ‘you know what? I just got you out’.

“That’s what it basically comes down to, except with more emotion.

“He wants to tell him ‘I just won that battle’. I would’ve been the same.”

Watch: A history of Rabada’s demerit points

A worst-case scenario for Rabada following his charges from this Test would leave the 22-year-old with 11 demerit points, including seven that would stay on his record for 23 months.

Rabada’s history of ICC charges

Feb 2017: Inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with Sri Lanka’s Niroshan Dickwella. Three demerit points and fined 50 per cent of match fee.

July 2017: Used inappropriate language after dismissing England allrounder Ben Stokes. One demerit point and fined 15 per cent of match fee. Suspended one Test.

Feb 2018: Using language which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in send-off of India batsman Shikhar Dhawan. One demerit point and fined 15 per cent of match fee.

Mar 2018: Level-two charge for making physical contact with Steve Smith during a spirited send-off. Expected to have argued it was not “deliberate” at a hearing. Later in same Test, screamed in David Warner’s face after dismissing the opener on day three. Possibly will be charged.
