Antonio Brown and his trainer are facing criminal charges after allegedly engaging in a physical altercation with a truck driver outside of Brown’s home in Hollywood, Fla.

An arrest warrant was issued for Brown on one count of felony burglary with battery. His trainer, Glenn Holt, was arrested at the scene and faced an identical count of felony burglary and battery. Holt posted a $20,000 bond and was released from jail.

There is no option of bond attached to the arrest warrant for Brown, who turned himself in to police in Broward County, Fla.

Below is a summary of the events that led to the charges against Brown and Holt, based on police accounts and media reports.

Antonio Brown news

April 3

Brown is facing three charges in connection with the case, according a court document obtained by ESPN.com: felony burglary conveyance, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal mischief. Prosecutors in Broward County did not include the initial charge of felony burglary with battery in its March 20 filing, ESPN reported.

Jan. 24

Brown spent Thursday night in custody as he awaited his bail hearing Friday morning. According to reports, Brown was granted bail with a few conditions.

Jan. 23

Update (11 p.m.): Brown arrived at the Broward County Jail late Thursday night, Miami television station WFOR reported.

Update (10:10 p.m.): Christian Lata, public information officer for the Hollywood Police Department, told USA Today that Brown is expected to turn himself in Thursday or Friday. “I would assume it would be sooner than later,” Lata was quoted as saying Thursday afternoon. Brown had not turned himself in as of Thursday night.

Jan. 22

Update (9 p.m.): An arrest warrant has been issued for Brown on a felony charge of burglary and battery.

Update: (6:20 p.m.): TMZ obtained court documents that allege the incident stemmed from the moving truck driver asking Brown for $4,000 payment for helping him move belongings from California. Brown threw a rock at the truck when the spurned driver drove away, TMZ reports, and allegedly committed assault when the driver returned to again ask for his owed cash. Holt is alleged to have also participated in the altercation by taking the driver’s keys and trying to swipe Brown’s items from the back of the vehicle for his client.

Update (4:42 p.m.): Chelsie Kyriss, Brown’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his three kids, shared an emotional message on Instagram expressing concern for Brown, imporing his to seek mental health treatment. Kyriss said she has distanced the children from Brown to begin “a new life free from any impulsive, reckless and unhealthy behaviors.”

Update (11:31 a.m.): Antonio Brown remained at his home Wednesday morning as the police investigation continued. Brown has “locked himself in his house,” a public information officer told USA Today, and thus far has resisted efforts by police to contact him regarding their probe into Tuesday’s incident.

“They want my name slandered,” Brown posted to his Twitter account at 11:14 a.m. ET Wednesday.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

What happened at Antonio Brown’s house?

A moving truck and its driver arrived at Antonio Brown’s house Tuesday afternoon to deliver some of his belongings, according to ESPN. Police responded to a call at the residence from a person later identified as the truck driver, who accused Brown and his trainer, Glenn Holt, of battery.

The driver, who was not identified by name, told police the incident began when Brown refused to pay a $4,000 bill for the moving truck service, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. An argument over the unpaid bill started and the driver alleges Brown “forced his way into the driver’s side of the main cabin and began to physically strike him,” per the report.

The TMZ report said Holt then grabbed the keys from the driver and began unloading Brown’s belongings, damaging other items inside the truck that did not belong to Brown.

Television cameras on site showed a large police presence.

Holt was arrested at the scene and charged with one count of felony burglary and battery. He was arraigned at Broward County Jail on Tuesday.

Police said they made repeated and unsuccessful attemps to question Brown in the 24 hours after the incident occured. He had remained inside or near his home Wednesday. It was unclear Wednesday night whether Brown would cooperate with the warrant and turn himself in to police.

What is a battery charge?

In Florida law, battery charges can range from misdemeanor to felony depending on the severity of the incident.

A simple battery charge is applied when a person “actually and intentionally touches or strikes another person against the will of the other; or intentionally causes bodily harm to another person.” Simple battery is considered a first-degree misdemeanor in Florida and carries a sentence of up to a one year in jail.

Aggravated battery, the more serious charge, occurs when a person:

  • Intentionally or knowingly causes great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement
  • Uses a deadly weapon
  • Commits aggravated battery against a victim who was pregnant at the time of the offense and the offender knew or should have known that the victim was pregnant

Aggravated battery is usually charged as a felony in the second degree, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

Antonio Brown timeline

Brown, currently an NFL free agent after being cut by the Patriots, was already under investigation for an unrelated rape accusation. The league is still reviewing that case.

Last week, Brown live-streamed a video of himself yelling obscenties toward police and the mother of his children with his kids present. He threw a bag of penis-shaped gummy candies at the officers. That led his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to conditionally sever ties with him until he seeks counsel.

Brown played in only one NFL game this past season.

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown will serve two years of probation, attend a 13-week anger management program and undergo a psychological exam as part of a plea deal relating to a January incident at Brown’s Hollywood home involving a moving company truck driver.

On Friday, Brown changed his plea to no contest on charges of burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief, which means he will accept the sentence but did not admit guilt.

The order issued by Broward Judge Edward Merrigan Jr. also requires Brown to complete 100 hours of community service and restrict his travel to within the United States for work purposes. Merrigan withheld adjudication, meaning Brown will not be convicted of a crime.

On Jan. 21, the driver of a moving truck arrived at Brown’s Hollywood home to deliver his household goods from California.

Soon after, the driver called police to report a vandalism, saying Brown threw a rock at his truck. The driver told police that Brown paid the $4,000 he owed for moving, but refused to pay $860 for the damage and his time, according to the police report. The driver also told police that Brown grabbed him and pulled him during the struggle.

Recently released dashcam video of the tussle in the cab of the moving company truck showed the reflection of Brown entering the cab and shouting at the driver. Then the video showed what appeared to be a tussle.

Glenn Holt, Brown’s trainer, was arrested on Jan. 21 and charged with one count of burglary with battery.

Brown, who grew up in Liberty City and graduated from Miami Norland Senior High, refused to speak to officers and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The next day Brown turned himself in. He had been out on a $110,000 bond since January 24. He originally pleaded not guilty to all charges.

“Rather than engage in a protracted legal case, Antonio decided to resolve this matter in an expeditious manner,” his attorneys said in a news release Friday.

In recent months, Brown, who was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders after a 2019 off-season and then released before the season began, has been in the spotlight. He was picked up by the New England Patriots, but was cut after only playing one game. A former trainer filed a lawsuit alleging sexual assault.

Then eight days before the moving company truck incident, Hollywood police were called to Brown’s home after an altercation involving Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Chelsie Kyriss. Brown was not arrested, but police say Brown waved penis-shaped gummy candies at officers while calling them “a bag of d—-.”

Alana Burstyn, an adviser for Antonio, said in a statement Friday that “with this matter now resolved, Antonio looks forward to continuing his cooperation with the NFL and resuming his professional career.”

Former Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers linebacker Antonio Morrison is facing at least one felony charge stemming from a series of erratic disturbances in Carmel, Indiana, according to court documents filed this week in Hamilton County.

Morrison, 25, was charged Monday with intimidation, court records show. No attorney had been listed for him as of Friday.

The Colts declined to comment on the case.

A probable cause affidavit obtained by IndyStar says Morrison allegedly accused a neighbor of “stepping into his space” on April 22 and made lewd comments to the man, such as “I am going to screw your wife,” Carmel police said in the affidavit.

The next day, on April 23, police responded to a verbal disturbance call from the same neighbor. The man reportedly told officers that Morrison came to his front door, rang the doorbell and yelled “that he was going to kill” him.

The man said he felt in fear for his life, the affidavit filed Monday stated.

Court records show a warrant was issued Monday for Morrison’s arrest.

On Wednesday, Carmel Police filed a second affidavit seeking to seize a firearm owned by Morrison, according to a copy of the document.

The affidavit says Morrison presents “an imminent risk of personal injury to (himself) or to another individual.”

That affidavit cites the April incidents, but it also details two other incidents from the month of May.

On May 1, Carmel Police Officer Jerek Murphy said Morrison approached another neighbor and threatened him, telling him to “get inside your condo (expletive),” the document said.

The neighbor did not want to press charges, police said in the affidavit, but said that Morrison’s behavior has become “increasingly erratic and aggressive.”

This past Sunday, May 10, officers and the Carmel Fire Department responded to a fire call at a condominium.

Before authorities entered the building, Morrison came to the main floor window and said he had burnt some food and had it all under control, according to the affidavit. Morrison, though, refused to come outside when he was told to, the document said.

A shotgun was seen by the entry door to the apartment.

Carmel Police Detective Chad Amos found that Morrison has an approved gun permit with validation dates of Oct. 25, 2016, through Oct. 25, 2020, according to the affidavit.

But he also found that Morrison was denied by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System from possessing a firearm on March 9, 2020, according to the document.

In addition to the Carmel charge, jail records show that Morrison was arrested Thursday in Indianapolis and remains held in Marion County Jail on preliminary charges of battery and battery against a public safety official. Court records show he has not been formally charged.

A report provided to IndyStar from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office says Morrison committed battery on a security officer. Additional details weren’t provided, but the office told IndyStar that the incident happened at Community Hospital North.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the Carmel and Indianapolis incidents are related.

Morrison has two upcoming court dates stemming from the incidents. The first, on May 18, is to address the preliminary battery charges. The second, on June 11, is a hearing to address the firearms seizure.

Morrison was a fourth-round draft pick by the Colts in 2016 and was traded to the Green Bay Packers in 2018. The team released him in 2019, after one season.

Former NFL linebacker Antonio Morrison was arrested this week and charged with intimidation, a felony, according to the Indianapolis Star.

A series of erratic behavior by Morrison led neighbors to call Carmel, Indiana, police on multiple occasions.

Morrison initially allegedly accused a neighbor of “stepping into his space” on April 22 and made lewd comments to the man, according to court documents obtained by the newspaper. A day later, the same neighbor called police, accusing Morrison of threatening to kill him.

The man told police he feared for his life, according to the affidavit.

Police issued a warrant for Morrison’s arrest Monday and a second affidavit was filed Wednesday, seeking to seize a firearm owned by Morrison.

Morrison threatened a different neighbor May 1, according to the affidavit. Then, last Sunday, the Carmel Fire Department responded to a fire call at a condominium. Morrison told firefighters through a window that he had burned food and everything was fine but refused to come outside.

Firefighters spotted a shotgun at the entry door.

Police arrested Morrison on Thursday on preliminary charges of battery and battery against a public safety official, according to the Indianapolis Star. Court records show he has not been formally charged, and it remains unclear if the Carmel and Indianapolis incidents are related.

The Colts made Morrison a fourth-round draft choice in 2016. They traded him to the Packers in 2018.

Morrison, 25, was released by the Packers on March 8, 2019.

Former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Antonio Morrison is facing at least one felony charge stemming from a series of erratic disturbances in Carmel, according to court documents filed this week in Hamilton County.

Morrison, 25, was charged Monday with intimidation, court records show. No attorney has been listed for him as of Friday.

The Colts declined to comment on the case.

A probable cause affidavit obtained by IndyStar says Morrison allegedly accused a neighbor of “stepping into his space” on April 22, and made lewd comments to the man, such as “I am going to screw your wife,” Carmel police said in the affidavit.

The next day, on April 23, police responded to a verbal disturbance call from the same neighbor.. The man reportedly told officers that Morrison came to his front door, rang the doorbell and yelled “that he was going to kill” him.

The man said he felt in fear for his life, the affidavit, filed Monday, stated.

Police said they had been out to his home at least four times in a month.

Police issued an arrest warrant for former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted a truck driver.

Brown, 31, and his trainer, Glenn Holt, were both accused of assaulting a moving truck driver outside of the player’s home in Hollywood, Florida, on Tuesday over a disagreement about the moving fees.

Holt was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of burglary with battery, according to police. Officers said they attempted to make contact with Brown to question him, but were unsuccessful.

The warrant charges the free agent receiver with one count of burglary with battery, one count of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and one count of criminal mischief.

Police said they had been to his home at least four times in the past month due to domestic disturbance calls.

Holt’s attorney, Eric Rudenberg, told Miami ABC affiliate WPLG that police claimed there had been a disagreement between movers about some items belonging Brown.

The driver was reportedly there to deliver items that Brown had stored in California, but the athlete initially refused to pay the $4,000 fee, according to a police report obtained by WPLG. The driver had attempted to leave with the delivery items still in his truck when Brown allegedly threw a rock, damaging the vehicle, the report said.

At one point, Brown allegedly entered the truck’s cabin and began to assault the driver. Holt approached the cab a short time later and attempted to grab the keys to the truck and caused cuts and scratches to the driver, according to WPLG.

Holt, 35, was out on bond as of Wednesday evening. His attorney said he intends to plead not guilty.

“I’m glad the state attorney’s office was reasonable here and agreed to a bond that my client can afford,” Rudenberg told WPLG. “This is a serious charge, but these allegations are way overblown.”

Brown found himself at the center of controversy last year when he asked to be released from the Oakland Raiders after the franchise awarded him a contract that included $30 million in guarantees.

He was released by Oakland and later signed with the Patriots, but the team cut him in September when a former trainer accused him of rape and sexual assault. Brown’s release from the team coincided with a report in Sports Illustrated that another woman accused Brown of sexual harassment while she working at his home.

Brown’s lawyer has denied the sexual assault allegations.

The receiver was a star with the Pittsburgh Steelers for nine seasons, totaling seven Pro Bowl appearances and four first-team All Pro selections.

ABC News’ Bill Hutchinson and Darren Reynolds contributed to this report.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — NFL free agent Antonio Brown turned himself in at a Florida jail on Thursday night following accusations that he and his trainer attacked the driver of a moving truck that carried some of his possessions from California.

Brown, 31, arrived at Broward County Jail around 10 p.m. The wide receiver, wearing a turquoise suit buttoned over a green athletic jacket, walked out of the jail a few minutes after arriving, but then returned after conferring with his lawyer, who indicated that he would spend the night behind bars.

“He’s innocent of these charges. Hopefully we’ll get bond tomorrow and he’ll be acquitted of all charges,” attorney Eric Schwartzreich told

He is expected to appear before a judge in a bond court hearing on Friday.

A Hollywood police statement said Brown’s arrest warrant included charges of burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief. Officials responded Tuesday afternoon to a disturbance call where the alleged victim said Brown and his trainer, Glenn Holt, hit him outside Brown’s Hollywood home.

Holt was arrested and charged with one count of burglary with battery, but officials couldn’t make contact with Brown at the time.

The Miami Herald , citing an officer’s arrest report, that it began as an argument over Brown’s refusal to pay $4,000 to the driver to release his household goods. The driver called police and reported a vandalism after he said Brown threw a rock as he drove away, causing a small dent and chipping the paint, an officer wrote.

The driver later returned when the manager of his company told him that Brown would now pay the $4,000, and an additional $860 for the damage and the driver’s time. Brown then paid the $4,000, but refused to pay the rest, so the driver returned to the van to call his company, and that’s when Brown “started another verbal argument,” police said.

“Brown stepped up into the cabin of the vehicle and started to physically grab and pull (the driver),” while Holt “entered the vehicle and grabbed the keys from the ignition,” police said. The driver tried to get the keys back and cut his hand in the process, according to the report.

Police say the driver suffered injuries including scratches on his neck, shoulder and arm, a cut on his finger and a scrape on his stomach.

Holt then used the keys to open the truck, while Brown “and other unidentified friends” began removing boxes. The boxes, however, belonged to another client, police said. When the driver told them so, Brown and the others “started tossing the items back into the truck causing damage to some of the property,” an officer wrote.

Hollywood police were called again, and when officers arrived, Brown “retreated inside of his residence and shut the door.”

Brown, who is a free agent, played nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders last year but released before ever playing a regular season game following several off-the-field incidents. He was then signed by the New England Patriots, after a second woman in 10 days .
