MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – Two NFL players arrested in South Florida had their first court appearance Sunday.

Deandre Baker and Quinton Dunbar are facing multiple armed robbery charges.

A judge allowed bond for both Baker and Dunbar despite the state’s wishes.

Baker’s bond was set at $200,000 while Dunbar was offered bail at $100,000.

However, they are not allowed to have contact with witnesses and must turn over and firearms they own.

Both men are expected to be released sometime Sunday. Their lawyers mentioned during the hearings that both Baker and Dunbar had no criminal history.

The men turned themselves into police on Saturday after warrants were issued for their arrests.

Investigators said it all stems from an incident at a house party in Miramar Wednesday night.

One of the witnesses told police that “attendees were playing cards, video games and gambling” when an argument broke out involving Baker. The witness said Baker flipped the card game table, and then pulled out a gun as did Dunbar.

Baker, Dunbar, and two other men, one identified only as “Shy” began robbing other people at the party of thousands of dollars in cash, luxury watches, and other valuables, witnesses told investigators.

Police said the four men then fled the home in three vehicles: a Mercedes Benz, a Lamborghini, and a BMW. Witnesses said the vehicles were parked in a way that would make it easy to leave quickly, leading detectives to believe the robbery was planned. No injuries were reported.

Dunbar‘s attorney Michael Grieco said, “He did not participate in any robbery.” He said that 4 alleged victims and a witness changed their stories saying “…any robbery or assault did not involve Mr. Dunbar…” that “…he fled the home.”

Baker and Dunbar are both from Miami.

Baker was one of three first-round draft picks the Giants had last season.

“We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with Deandre,” the Giants said in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.”

Dunbar signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Florida in 2015 and was traded to the Seahawks in March.

“We are aware of the situation involving Quinton Dunbar and still gathering information,” the Seahawks said in a statement. “We will defer all further comment to league investigators and local authorities.”

Dunbar spent Thursday morning on a video conference with the Seattle media for the first time since being traded from Washington to the Seahawks in March.

“You just want to feel wanted at the end of the day. I just hope to repay them with the way I carry myself as a person,” Dunbar said on the video conference.

Terrell Perriman’s initial court appearance Thursday morning did not produce anything out of the ordinary.

A Rule 16 Discovery Request was made and a new court date of Feb. 18 was set. At that time, Perriman will stand before Judge Chelsea Koch at the Third District Court in West Jordan. Perriman will remain in Salt Lake County Jail on $750,000 bail.

A Rule 16 Discovery Request is a standard motion that defense attorneys file asking prosecutors to give them all of the evidence that they have.

When asked about the Perriman situation on Wednesday afternoon during his National Signing Day press conference, Utes coach Kyle Whittingham balked.

“I made the statement on that, and due to the nature of the nature of the investigation, what’s going on, I’m precluded from saying anything or comment in any way, shape or form,” Whittingham said.

Perriman was immediately suspended from the team last week, but as of Thursday afternoon, he remained on Utah’s official roster.

A statement describing the probable cause for his arrest alleges that he met the girl on Instagram and then the two connected on Snapchat. The teenager told police, according to court documents, that Perriman pressured her to send him nude photos and that he sent her several sexually graphic videos and a picture.

On Jan. 23, the girl said Perriman sent her an Uber ride so she could come to his apartment. Once she was there, charges allege, he trapped her in his room and wouldn’t let her leave. The teen told police she was afraid after she saw that Perriman had a stun gun.

She asked him if she could go, according to court documents, and he said only after she had sexual contact with him. She told him she didn’t want to and that she was only 17 and in high school. Perriman allegedly blocked the door, took her cellphone and covered her mouth while she screamed. She tried to bite him.

The girl said he then pulled his pants down and forced her out of hers and raped her, according to court documents. Perriman then ordered another Uber and sent the teen home, according to the probable cause statement.

Tribune reporter Courtney Tanner contributed to this story.

WEEHAWKEN – Jets linebacker Dylan Donahue waived his first court appearance yesterday for charges stemming from a wrong-way crash at the Lincoln Tunnel last month.

His Morristown-based attorney, Terry Webb, stood before a judge in Weehawken Municipal Court for less than one minute saying she received discovery in the case, before a new court date was set.

Authorities say Donahue was driving a green Dodge Charger on Feb. 26 when he drove around cones on the Weehawken side of the tunnel and proceeded into a tube against traffic. He allegedly crashed into a jitney bus and was charged with DWI.

The front-seat passenger of the vehicle, Suleiman Mahmood, who is reportedly a Passaic firefighter, was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly intervening during Donahue’s arrest.

Mahmood, wearing a sweatshirt with his firefighter’s union patch on the front, was arraigned on the charges and asked the judge for some time to hire a lawyer. He and Donahue are expected in court again on April 11.

Webb declined to discuss the details of the case.

Fifteen people were on board the jitney when authorities say Donahue drove into the bus. Four of those passengers were treated at Hoboken University Hospital for minor injuries.

Donahue, 25, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 draft by the Jets, was a backup and special teams player during his four games with the team this past season. He suffered a season-ending injury to his elbow in the Jets’ Oct. 1 win over the Jaguars.
