Former Blues enforcer Luke O’Donnell has been charged with assaulting a female police officer in a violent confrontation at his Clovelly apartment that dates back to June 3.

The ex-Cowboys and Roosters forward is facing charges for maliciously damaging property, assaulting a senior constable, resisting arrest and intimidating his own father, according to Channel Nine.

The heated altercation forced police to taser him and pushed his father, Ross, to take out an AVO on him, while his girlfriend – who witnessed the ordeal – will provide evidence at Waverley Local Court on October 5.

O’Donnell has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

As he left the court, the 37-year-old was captured forcefully shoving a reporter who zeroed in with questions.

The former NRL hardman built his game on aggression and grit, retiring from the NRL as the seventh most suspended player with 32 weeks worth of sanctions to his name.

He retired with a premiership in 2013 with the Roosters, racking up 215 first grade appearances with five games for the Blues and 11 caps for Australia.
