AUSTIN, Texas — Baltimore Ravens star Earl Thomas is listed as the victim in a domestic violence incident last month in Austin, where his wife was arrested after police say she told them she pointed a loaded weapon at her husband’s head when she found him in bed with another woman.

The incident, first reported by TMZ, happened in the early morning of April 13 at a rental home in East Austin in the 600 block of Brushy Street. Police say they responded to that location and found Thomas’ wife, Nina, chasing her husband in the parking lot with a knife, an arrest affidavit stated. Thomas, according to police, was carrying a pistol that they later determined he had taken away from Nina after she entered the home to confront her husband about cheating. Police ordered the Thomases to the ground and to drop their weapons, and the couple complied, the affidavit states.

Nina Thomas, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree family violence for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Two women who police say accompanied Nina to the residence to confront her husband were charged with burglary of a residence.

Court records show Nina Thomas was released from jail later in the day after posting $25,000 bail. An emergency protective order states she cannot have contact with Earl Thomas or the woman whom she found Earl in bed with for 60 days.

Houston lawyer Jonathan Goins, who is listed as the attorney of record for Nina Thomas, issued a statement Thursday saying his client was wrongfully arrested.

“We have already gathered information which controverts every single allegation made on the night in question,” Goins said. “We have begun working with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office to ensure that these charges do not stick and Mrs. Thomas’s pristine name is cleared.”

The Ravens said Thursday in a statement: “We became aware of the situation when we read and saw it on the reports late last night and early this morning.”

Nina Thomas is set to appear in Travis County District Court on June 8 for an initial setting in the case.

Earl Thomas, who turned 31 Thursday, was not charged in the incident. He released a video Wednesday night on social media addressing the incident.

“Instead of talking about us, just keep us in your prayers,” Thomas said. “Stuff like this happens. We try to live the best lives we possibly can but sometimes it don’t go as planned. Just pray for us as we go through this stuff.”

Thomas told police that he left the home he shares with Nina in the afternoon before the incident after an argument about him drinking too much alcohol. He said he called his brother to pick him up and the two went to the downtown rental home to watch TV with two women — including one who Thomas told police he had been seeing for three or four months while he worked on his relationship with Nina.

Earl Thomas, according to his wife’s affidavit, was awoken in bed with the other woman at around 1 a.m. when Nina entered the room and pointed a black pistol at him. Nina largely corroborated the events, telling police she put the gun to her husband’s head to scare him. Police say Nina told them she removed the magazine thinking the gun could not fire but was unaware that the gun had a round in the chamber. Nina, according to police, admitted to disengaging the gun’s safety.

Nina told police, they say, that she tracked her husband’s whereabouts to the rental home through his Snapchat account, which showed several videos of Earl with the other woman. Two women who Nina brought to confront her husband were also taken into custody: her sister, Kayla Baham-Heisser, and her friend Camisha Garlow, the ex-spouse of Earl Thomas’ brother, Seth, who was with the football player at the rental home.

Baham-Heisser took footage of the incident with her phone that police reviewed. The video, according to police, shows Earl Thomas at the top of a staircase with Nina placing the gun within a foot of his head with her finger on the trigger. Nina struck Earl in the nose before the video ended, police said. The video also showed Garlow attempting to attack a woman who was in the home with Seth Thomas.

Thomas, a safety, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and considered one of the top defensive players in the NFL. He won a Super Bowl in the 2013 season with the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted him in the first round out of the University of Texas in 2010.

Natalia Mogilevsky — a player in a million-dollar dispute between her estranged husband and mother — is expected to spend no time in jail on charges that she bit the man in November at their Ballenisles Country Club home in Palm Beach Gardens.

In front of Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge Debra Moses Stephens on Tuesday, Mogilevsky agreed to pretrial diversion on the first-degree misdemeanor domestic battery charge. The 39-year-old mother of two could have gone to jail for a year.

The woman is involved in a federal legal battle over millions in properties that her husband, Ilia Mogilevsky, 40, is alleged to have stolen from her mother. The Mogilevskys are immigrants from Russia.

On Jan. 16, lawyers for Ilia Mogilevsky’s mother-in-law, Tamara Filippova of eastern Siberia, filed a 21-count lawsuit in U.S. District Court.

Citing the federal Civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, the suit claims Ilia Mogilevsky, in collusion with local business partners, lawyers, notaries public and others also named as defendants, defrauded Filippova out of more than $8 million by forging documents to move dozens of Florida properties to his name from hers.

Lawyers for Ilia Mogilevsky, in a “motion to dismiss” filed Feb. 6 in U.S. District Court, called the 158-page lawsuit “baseless.”

Filippova lawyer Gary Rosen has said he intends to forward all his findings about alleged misdoings by Ilia Mogilevsky to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for possible criminal investigations. And while Filippova’s suit lists Natalia Mogilevsky as a defendant, and alleges she helped her husband mislead her mother, Rosen has said Natalia “was duped by Ilia.”

Stuart Kaplan, the attorney who represents Natalia Mogilevsky in her domestic-battery case, has said she plans to countersue her husband in federal court.

Natalia and Ilia Mogilevsky filed for divorce Nov. 2. On Nov. 11, Natalia was arrested, charged with biting her husband’s wrist in front of the couple’s children, then 12 and 3.

At the time of his client’s arrest, Kaplan said the two fought because Ilia Mogilevsky had taken Natalia’s cellphones, obtained bank account passwords from them and cleaned out the couple’s accounts of $110,000.

In the deal struck Tuesday, Natalia Mogilevsky does not make a formal plea, but prosecutors agree to drop the charges if she attends eight hours of anger-management classes, pays $50 in court fees and otherwise stays out of trouble, defense attorney Elizabeth Parker said.

The 49-year-old Point Piper man, who lives near Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in Australia’s most expensive suburb, was driving a Tesla electric car during the collision, which occurred shortly after 6pm on November 13.

Mirzikinian attended Rose Bay police station on Sunday and was issued with a future attendance notice to appear before a Downing Centre Local Court magistrate on April 18.

Mr Trameaux, who died at the scene of the crash, had worked as an UBEREats delivery cyclist at night after finishing his day shifts as a labourer.

He had been involved in the industry for almost 10 years and has amassed more than $640,000 in winnings.

Mr Mirzikinian has collected nearly $100,000 this year at events at Star Sydney, the Nine Network said.

He lives in a lavish four-bedroom home with his wife Kristy, who is a friend of PR queen Roxy Jacenko.

The death was the fifth cyclist fatality on NSW Roads in 2017, Transport NSW said.

Mr Mirzikinian’s wife last year made headlines when a sinkhole the size of a backyard swimming pool opened up outside their Point Piper home, cutting power and interrupting personal training sessions.

‘My personal trainer has come, my electricity is off and now I don’t know what to do,’ said Ms Mirzikinian in her blue gym gear and clutching a Mercedes Benz umbrella.

LINWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) —

Many people from the quiet town of Linwood, New Jersey are breathing a sigh of relief now that an arrest has been made in the death of April Kauffman.

Kauffman was found murdered inside her home more than five years ago.

“I think it puts the towns head to rest a little bit,” said Linda Mullin, of Linwood. “People can finally move on from it and look back at April and see something positive coming from it.”

No one we spoke with was surprised that the suspect turned out to be her husband, Dr. James Kauffman, but the alleged details left many in the state of disbelief.

Dr. Kauffman is accused of hatching a murder-for-hire plot that ended with his wife’s death.

Investigators said the suspect made a fortune through an illegal drug distribution network.

According to authorities, Dr. Kauffman enlisted the help of Ferdinand Augello, who allegedly was a key player in the drug ring.

Kaufman and Augello then allegedly hired a man named Francis Mulholland to kill April, after April threatened to divorce her husband and expose his illegal enterprise.

“He was intent to have her killed as opposed to losing his financial empire, as he described it to several individuals,” said Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner.

Tyner said Kauffman and four of the other defendants, Ferdinand Augello, Paul Pagano, Tabitha Chapman and Joseph Mulholland will have their first appearance in court Thursday.

Neighbors said it is hard to believe a physician could allegedly do something so sinister.

“It’s not something you think a professional person like a doctor or a lawyer would do,” said Glen Rothstein of Linwood. “Certainly not something that a professional would want to go down that road.”

Prosecutors said Kauffman’s illegal drug enterprise continued for five years after April’s death.

A police body-cam video captured the scene when he was arrested on drug and weapons charges last June.

Six other people have also since been arrested, and face racketeering charges linked to this case.

“It’s a very sad situation,” said Michelle Hoffman of Linwood. “But it’s just shocking that someone could do something like that.”
