The Warriors week went from bad to worse on Saturday after it was revealed Tuivasa-Sheck had been charged with a grade-one charge for a shoulder charge in his side’s 50-6 loss against the Storm the night before.

Tuivasa-Sheck would’ve copped a one-game ban had he entered an early guilty plea but will instead fight the charge which normally results in a two-game suspension if the player in question is found guilty.

However, with Tuivasa-Sheck’s seven-year clean record, he will benefit from a penalty reduction and still only face one week on the sidelines if he loses his case.

The incident in question happened in the 61st minute where replays showed Tuivasa-Sheck tucked his right shoulder before making contact with Storm forward Felise Kaufusi.

Working in Tuivasa-Sheck’s favour is the fact the referee didn’t penalise the action at the time.

If Tuivasa-Sheck loses, he will miss Saturday’s game against fellow strugglers Brisbane.

Bulldogs back Reimis Smith faces a one-match suspension after being hit with a grade one dangerous contact charge during his side’s 22-2 win over the Dragons at Bankwest Stadium on Monday.

Ash Taylor, Sam Lisone and Waqa Blake also received grade one charges, but won’t miss any football.

Smith was charged after making dangerous contact to the head/neck of Dragons winger Mikaele Ravalawa.

The 23-year-old has 30 carry over points and will cop a one match suspension with an early guilty plea or if he contests the charge and loses.

He will likely be replaced in the starting side by Kerrod Holland, who started on the interchange bench against the Dragons.

Smith scored a 70th minute try as the Bulldogs earned their first win of the 2020 season on Monday afternoon.

Elsewhere, Parramatta’s Waqa Blake was charged with a grade one careless high tackle for a shot on Manly’s Danny Levi on Saturday night.

Blake has a good record at the judiciary, so won’t face a suspension.

The 25-year-old entered an early guilty plea and will be hit with a $550 fine.

Taylor and Lisone were both charged with grade one dangerous contact to the head or neck during Gold Coast’s thrilling 28-23 win over the Tigers on Sunday.

Neither player faces suspension or a fine.

Warrior Agnatius Paasi faces a two-match ban for a dangerous contact charge on Dragon Corey Norman. He can reduce the suspension to one match with an early guilty plea.

Storm prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona was charged with dangerous contact for an incident with Canberra’s Dunamis Lui. He cannot reduce the one-match ban with an early guilty plea.

Knight Edrick Lee can avoid suspension with an early guilty plea for an incident involving Panther Kurt Capewell.

Norman (dangerous contact: 0-1 games), Wests Tiger Alex Twal (contrary conduct: $1350-$1800 fine) and Oliver Clark (dangerous contact: 0-1 games), and Storm youngster Tino Fa’asuamaleaui (dangerous contact: 0-1 games) are the other players facing fines or suspension.

Bronco Kotoni Staggs is set to miss this week after entering an early plea for grade-two careless high tackle on Eel Dylan Brown. He is available to return in Round 5.

Roosters forward Victor Radley is facing a one-match ban for a careless high tackle on Manly prop Martin Taupau, and is one of three players charged by the NRL match review committee from Sunday’s Telstra Premiership matches.

Radley will receive a one-match suspension if he enters an early guilty plea or is found guilty at the judiciary, after being hit with a grade two charge.

His Roosters teammate Joseph Manu can avoid a suspension with an early plea after being charged with dangerous contact over a tackle on Manly’s Dylan Walker that drew criticism from Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett.

Dragons forward Tyson Frizell was the other player charged from Sunday’s matches, and can avoid a ban if he pleads guilty to making dangerous contact to the head/neck of Melbourne fullback Billy Slater.
