Landin Robinson killed
High School football player Landin Robinson was shot and killed in a senseless murder. The killer Bryan Haynes is in prison and being charged with captial murder.

Landin Robinson, 16 was a high school football player who was shot and killed with his 18-year-old cousin, Klayton Manning last week. Robinson and Manning who worked as a volunteer firefighter dead next to a Polaris ATV.

The two men were trying to flee from the scene according to court documents. Bryan Haynes, 34 of Austin is being charged with capital murder after the killings.

The 34 year old Austin man is trying to claim he was chased by aliens before he shot the two young men. The affidavit says the 34 year old killer told his brothers he was being chased by aliens in an ATV and indicated he shot the two aliens with his gun.

Bryan Haynes capital murder

The sad part is he emptied two 17 round magazines and two 10 round magazines on the two men.

Robinson joined the team last year as a sophomore when his family moved to the district. He was able to play a little on the offensive line, and played on special teams. The coach Matt Chiurco said this year they were expecting to have a bigger role for the 16 year old big man.

“This year we were counting on him to probably be one of our tackles,” the coach said.

I please ask that you pray for the family of Landin Robinson. A GoFundMe account was set up for the family. If you can anything will help. Please keep the families in your prayers.

MALVERN — A funeral will be held in Texas next week for a Malvern football player who was killed there while visiting his family.

Landin Robinson, 16, and his 18-year-old cousin, Klayton Manning, were shot Tuesday evening on a country road, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff.

Authorities found Robinson and Manning, a volunteer firefighter, dead near a Polaris side-by-side utility vehicle.

Evidence from the scene indicated the teens were shot while on the fire department vehicle and while trying to flee, according to a court complaint filed by a detective.

On Thursday, investigators arrested Bryan Haynes, 34, of Austin, and charged him with capital murder.

The sheriff’s office said Haynes, the only suspect in the case, was being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.

According to the complaint, Haynes told his brothers Tuesday night that he had shot two “aliens” who were chasing him in an ATV with firefighter decals.

Haynes said he shot the “aliens” multiple times and his account was consistent with the victims’ wounds and evidence at the scene, according to the complaint.

According to a GoFundMe account set up to raise money to pay for expenses caused by Robinson’s death, Landin’s mother, Amber Hise was at home in Ohio when she learned her son had been killed.

“Landin was the sweetest young man, he would give you the shirt off of his back,” writes Tiffani Cowan Hendrix, who organized the fundraiser. “He loved his sisters, loved his friends, and loved sports. He was a great kid!

“He aspired to be a welder and had plans to go to welding school after graduating from high school.”

“Words sometimes can’t describe how everything happened and how everything unfolded,” Malvern football coach Matt Chiurco said. “It’s just an absolute disaster.”

Robinson joined the team last year as a sophomore when his family moved to the district, but an injury limited him to playing special teams and a little bit on the line, Chiurco said.

“This year we were counting on him to probably be one of our tackles,” the coach said.

Robinson was a quiet, humble and coachable kid who was a good student and wanted to become a welder, his coach said.

Chiurco said he, a guidance counselor and a pastor spoke to the football players this week about Robinson’s death.

Brown Local Schools Superintendent Mark Scott said in-person, video and telephone counseling would be available for students, staff and families.

“The Brown Local School District family is deeply saddened by the loss of Landin and he will be greatly missed,” Scott wrote on Facebook.

On Monday, Chiurco, High School Principal Tim Babiczuck and guidance counselor Jeremy Taylor, who also coaches, will make the 21-hour drive to Luling.

A 19-year-old Surrey man is facing eight criminal charges including dangerous driving causing death in connection with a crash that killed a university soccer player and injured three others last year.

Dilpreet Sandhu was formally charged on Monday with offences that also include failing to stop at the scene of a crash and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Simon Fraser University soccer player Brandon Bassi, 19, was fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash in the Newton neighbourhood shortly after midnight on May 18, 2019. At the time of the collision, police reported that four people had been hurt while two had fled the scene.

“This collision had a significant impact on the community due to the tragic loss of a young person’s life,” Surrey RCMP Sgt. Ian MacLellan said in a press release.

“We’re pleased that the hard work of the officers has resulted in charges being approved.”

Bassi was a first-year student in SFU’s faculty of arts and sciences. At the time of his death, the head coach of the school’s soccer team described him as a “tremendous individual” and an “outstanding teammate, student and friend.”

Sandhu is scheduled to make his first appearance on the charges on Aug. 31 in Surrey provincial court.

CONWAY AREA, SC (WBTW) – A man has been charged after troopers say a wreck left a pedestrian dead on Highway 544 early Saturday morning.

Riley Patton, 23, of Surfside Beach, is charged with felony DUI involving death and leaving the scene of a collision involving death, according to Corporal Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Coastal Carolina University Assistant Athletic Director Kevin Davis confirmed to News13 Patton was a member of the CCU footbal team in the fall of 2019. Davis said he no longer has eligibility, but is still a student at the school.

University spokesperson Martha Hunn said he was restricted from campus upon notice of arrest. She said that’s a measure taken ‘during the University administrative process to protect all parties and the integrity of the investigation.’

The wreck happened around 1 a.m. Saturday morning on Highway 544 near Cabots Creek Road.

That’s where a Ford truck was in the median to help another vehicle, Collins said. A GMC truck allegedly hit the Ford, and then a pedestrian standing outside it.

Highway Patrol says the GMC continued down the road to Peachtree Grocery, where Patton was eventually taken into custody.

The pedestrian was killed as a result of the crash, Collins said. The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian as Timothy “Timmy” Shulkcum, 55, of Myrtle Beach.

Patton was booked into J. Reuben Long around 5:30 Saturday morning, online records show. He has not been released.

Highway 544 was blocked for some time while crews worked to clear the scene.

The wreck remains under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol. Count on News13 for updates.

Virginia (NBC) (05/06/20)— Minor league baseball player Blake Bivens said he found out through Facebook that his wife, their 14-month-old son, and his mother-in-law had been killed.

Bivens, who pitched last season for the Montgomery, Alabama, Biscuits, a Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, opened up about the deaths in August while speaking with a pastor from The River Church in Danville, Virginia.

Matthew Bernard, his brother-in-law, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Bernard is accused of killing his mother, Joan Bernard, age 62; his sister Emily Bernard Bivens, age 25; and her child, Cullen Bivens, 14 months.

Bivens said he was with his teammates in Chattanooga, Tennessee, finishing up a series of games when he woke up and checked his phone but didn’t have any messages from his family. He logged on to Facebook and immediately saw a headline about a search for Bernard.

“I knew then there’s something going on so immediately called my parents,” Bivens said during a conversation that aired Sunday on Facebook Live. “They were trying to figure out everything that was going on also. I knew I needed to get my stuff together. I needed to probably get an airplane trip home, not knowing the extent of anything going on.”

The Rays arranged a flight for Bivens to head home to Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He said that while he waited at the airport, he checked Facebook again and the first thing that popped up was a headline that said two women and a small child had been killed.

“I immediately knew that was them. I found out my family was gone over a Facebook headline. And I just immediately began to scream in the middle of the airport,” he said.

Bivens said that during the plane ride home, he would just start shaking, and then he would break down and cry.

The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in southern Virginia after a neighbor reported that someone might have been shot. Bernard was arrested while running around naked after an hours-long manhunt.

A competency review and determination hearing is scheduled for next week to determine whether Bernard is able to stand trial, according to ESPN.

Bivens said the hardest moment came when he walked into his son’s room for the first time after his death.

“That was the worst moment in my life. Nothing ever will come close to feeling the way I felt at that moment. But then again, I know I will see him again one day, and it won’t be long,” he said.

Bivens said that his faith has been getting him through the more than eight months since the killings and that he has sought comfort in knowing that they are “in the arms of Jesus and they’re waiting for me to be there with them.”

“It’s been amazing how the Lord has helped and gave us peace through everything,” Bivens said.

Patton is from Knoxville, Tenn., and he also played football for Tennessee Tech University.

Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol says a 2001 Ford Truck was in the median of Highway 544, assisting another vehicle. A 2002 GMC truck traveling east on 544, ran off into the median and hit the Ford. The Ford then hit and killed the pedestrian who was standing outside of the truck.

Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden identified the pedestrian as 55-year-old Timothy “Timmy” Shulkcum. He was 55 years old and living in Myrtle Beach.

Collins says the GMC Truck continued down the road to Peach Tree grocery, where the driver was taken into custody.

According to a Twitter post from Horry County Fire Rescue, crews responded to the scene around 1 a.m.
