CHARLOTTE, NC (WAVE) – One of the juvenile suspects accused of gunning down a Kentucky baseball player, will be tried as an adult.

Jahzion Wilson, 15, is charged in the murder of 21-year-old Zachary Finch, 21,. On Monday, A North Carolina judge ordered Wilson’s case be moved from juvenile court to Mecklenburg County (North Carolina) Superior Court after finding probable cause to charge Wilson with first-degree murder. Wilson also is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. His next court date has yet to be set.

Finch was a senior at the University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky. He was shot and killed in Charlotte, North Carolina, last summer while responding to an ad on an online sales app.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WSOC) – A Charlotte television station is reporting that one of the juvenile suspects charged in the shooting death of a University of the Cumberlands baseball player.

WSOC is reporting that 15-year-old Jah’zion Wilson is charged with murder in connection with Zack Finch’s death. Police say Finch was killed in a botched robbery after he attempted to buy a cell phone from an online barter site.

Wilson, another juvenile, and Demonte McCain have been charged in connection the murder. The judge ruled that Wilson should stand trial as an adult after evidence presented in court showed social media posts after the murder.

Finch’s family was in court and spoke to the ABC affiliate saying that it was difficult to have to relive the case.

“It’s awful. It’s hell,” Tara Finch told WSOC.

Finch was a beloved baseball player at the University of the Cumberlands. He was on a full scholarship
