The wife of Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas was arrested after police say she told them she pointed a loaded weapon at her husband’s head following an incident in which she caught him cheating on her.

The arrest occurred last month, but documents in the case surfaced just this week.

According to an Austin, Texas, police report obtained by NFL Media, police reached a rental home in East Austin on April 13th and found Thomas’ wife, Nina, chasing her husband on the property with a knife. Per police, Earl Thomas also was carrying a pistol that they later determined he had confiscated from his wife after she entered the home to confront him about his cheating.

Nina Thomas, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree family violence for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Two women, who police say accompanied Nina to the residence, were charged with burglary of a residence.

According to the documents obtained by TMZ, Nina Thomas held a loaded gun at her husband’s head after she allegedly found him in bed with his brother and other women. She placed the gun less than a foot away from his head, with the safety disengaged and her finger on the trigger, per TMZ.

“I am here to declare that my client unequivocally and categorically denies these allegations and we look forward to our day in court where we can clear her good name,” Houston lawyer Jonathan Goins said on behalf of Nina Thomas, per USA Today.

The two, who were high school sweethearts, married in an elaborate ceremony in Texas in 2016.

Earl Thomas addressed the incident involving his wife in an Instagram video on Wednesday night to “get ahead” of a report that TMZ planned to release the details of the event in question.

“So I just wanted to get ahead of it. I mean, it’s really not anybody’s business,” Thomas said. “It’s (angering me) that it got out but it’s the world we live in today. Instead of talking about it, just keep us in y’all’s prayers. Stuff like this happens, bro. We try to live the best lives we possibly can but sometimes it don’t go as planned. Just pray for us as we go through this stuff. We’re back talking. I’m seeing my kids so just keep us in your prayers.”

Nina Thomas is set to appear in Travis County District Court on June 8th for an initial setting in the case.

“We became aware of the situation when we read and saw it on the reports late last night and early this morning,” the Ravens said Thursday morning, per a team spokesman.

Earl Thomas, 31, recorded 49 tackles, two interceptions, two sacks and a forced fumble in 15 games in 2019 after signing a four-year, $55 million contract with the Ravens in March.

A seven-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time All-Pro, Thomas has posted 713 tackles and 30 interceptions in 140 career games with the Seattle Seahawks (2010-18) and Ravens.

Police swarmed a house in Cheatham County on Christmas and arrested the man accused of fatally stabbing two victims, including a brother of San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard, outside of a Nashville bar days earlier.

Michael Mosley, 23, was found “hiding out” in an otherwise vacant Ashland City house on Petway Road, according to the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Police from multiple agencies surrounded the house and took Mosley into custody.

Criminal-homicide warrants had been issued for Mosley in connection with the fatal stabbings of Clayton Beathard, 22, and Paul Trapeni III, 21, shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday across from The Dogwood Bar at 1907 Division St. in Nashville. A third victim, whom police didn’t identify, is recovering from stab wounds to his arm and eye.

Mosley, who has a long rap sheet, was implicated by surveillance video, according to a Metro Nashville police news release. The release said the altercation began inside the bar when Mosley made unwanted advances toward a woman. That sparked a verbal dispute that turned physical when the parties left the bar.

Mosley had “many Cheatham ties,” according to the Cheatham sheriff’s Facebook page.

Clayton Beathard’s brother C.J. Beathard is a 49ers’ backup quarterback, a Franklin native and third-year pro out of Iowa, according to the team’s official website. The site’s biography of the NFL player refers to Clayton as Clay and says he also played quarterback, earning Tennesee’s “Mr. Football” honors for his division in 2014.

The victim’s grandfather is Bobby Beathard, a longtime general manager of the Washington Redskins and later the GM for the Los Angeles Chargers when the team was in San Diego. The victim’s father is accomplished country music songwriter Casey Beathard, who has penned hits for Billy Ray Cyrus and Kenny Chesney, the 49ers website says.

Clay was the youngest of three brothers. The middle brother, Tucker, was a standout baseball player who turned down a scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University and is now a country singer-songwriter, the 49ers site says. Growing up, the brothers formed a band that played at talent shows.

The Metro police news release said Mosley, who is currently in the Davidson County jail, has an extensive criminal history.

At the time of these homicides, Mosley was free on $5,000 bond for attacking a 37-year-old woman at the Wal-Mart store on Charlotte Pike in December 2018. The assault apparently resulted from an ongoing dispute.

Mosley was convicted of misdemeanor assault in March 2016 for squirting urine from a shampoo bottle on an employee at a Davidson County jail facility on Christmas Day 2015. He received a 6-month sentence.

Mosley was arrested on multiple counts of aggravated robbery on June 1, 2015, for the armed robberies, at gunpoint, of three persons on Edmondson Pike. He was convicted in February 2018 on two counts of robbery and received two concurrent six-year sentences.

Mosley was arrested on two counts of felony aggravated assault in May 2015 for stabbing a man and cutting a woman on Colt Drive. He was convicted of both counts in December 2017 and received concurrent three-and-a-half-year sentences.

Mosley was convicted of car theft and auto burglary in July 2015. He received a three-year sentence for auto theft and a one-year sentence for auto burglary.

Mosley was arrested for attempted aggravated burglary in 2014. He pleaded guilty to burglary the following year and received a one-year sentence.

Attorneys for a former college football player who says he was assaulted by Henry County police during an arrest last year want an obstruction charge dropped.

They say video of the incident contradicted officers’ claims that their client, Desmond Marrow, resisted arrest.

In an arrest warrant, Henry County police Officer D. Rose alleged Marrow refused to obey officers’ commands and fought with police, forcing them to take him to the ground, attorney Chris Stewart stated in a letter to Henry County police and the board of commissioners.

“It has been made crystal clear that the basis for this charge is built upon false statements by Officer Rose after a review of the video tape, and the charge must be dropped,” Stewart wrote.

Stewart also asked for transparency about when police and the board were aware that police statements contradicted the video.

One of the officers involved in the arrest was placed on administrative duty, according to police Chief Mark Amerman.

Marrow, 30, a former University of Toledo cornerback, was arrested Dec. 2 in what police said was a road rage incident, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Video of the arrest surfaced on Facebook last month and showed Marrow being forced to the ground in handcuffs and being choked.

At one point, Marrow is heard screaming “I’m not even fighting back” and saying “I can’t breathe” multiple times.

Police charged him with making terroristic threats, reckless driving and felony obstruction of an officer. Stewart said the Henry County Magistrate Court dropped the terroristic threats charge after they determined no threat was made.

Citing Georgia law, Stewart asserted that for obstruction of law enforcement to occur, Marrow would have had to willfully resist, obstruct or oppose officers, preventing them from making the arrest.

“There can be no obstruction for an unlawful arrest,” Stewart wrote in the letter. “Mr. Marrow was the victim of a hate crime and tried to explain that to the officers.”

Marrow alleged he was called racial slurs by two men while driving and had hot coffee thrown in his vehicle. He then followed them to a shopping center to discuss the incident, his attorneys said.

They added that a witness called 911 and erroneously reported that Marrow had a weapon.

“Every day that he continues to have a felony on his record is a day of moving forward with his life lost,” Stewart wrote.
