SALT LAKE CITY — A University of Utah football player accused of raping a 17-year-old girl is facing additional charges after prosecutors say he also raped two women.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that 20-year-old Terrell Perriman is now charged with eight felonies, including three counts of rape. He is in jail on $750,000 bail.

Perriman initially faced a single count of rape and a charge of aggravated kidnapping on suspicion of assaulting a teen girl he met on Instagram. Prosecutors added to the charges Friday, saying he raped two women in Salt Lake County — one just three days before he was accused of raping the teen.

Defense attorney David Drake has said in court documents that Perriman did not rape the teen and that she made the allegations after she found out that he was not dating her exclusively. Drake argued that text messages show the girl continued to talk with Perriman after the alleged Jan. 23 assault and she was not afraid of him.

Drake did not immediately respond to a phone message Friday asking about the additional charges.

Perriman, a wide receiver, was suspended from the football team after his Jan. 30 arrest and was dismissed from it Friday.

GEORGETOWN— A woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by a former University of Delaware baseball player accused of multiple rapes told a jury Tuesday that she was surprised when he agreed to connect with her on an online dating site.

“He was a UD baseball player, and I was surprised that he would match with me,” the woman said, recounting how she connected with Clay Conaway on the meeting site Bumble. “He seemed just somewhat out of my league. … I couldn’t imagine that he would want to get to know me.”

The alleged victim is one of six women that Conaway, 23, is accused of sexually assaulting between 2013 and 2018. She was to resume testifying Wednesday.
The woman, 21, shared her excitement about connecting with Conaway in text messages with friends, sharing screenshots of his Bumble profile and his Instagram page, which she said she still follows.

“OMG I matched with a Delaware baseball player. … He’s so hot I’m screaming,” the woman texted to a friend.
She also testified that the day after she and Conaway connected on Bumble in May 2018, Conaway sent her a nude photo of himself on Snapchat. In a text exchange with a friend, she estimated the size of his genitalia and expressed amusement about receiving the photo. The friend advised that she block Conaway from her Snapchat account.

“I’ll keep him but now I know what he’s on Bumble for,” the woman responded, explaining to the jury that she understood then that “he was not on there to necessarily date.”
A week later, the woman, who had recently broken up with her boyfriend, told a friend in a text that she wanted “to hook up with somebody.”
“I think I’ve made up my mind,” added the woman, who explained to the jury that hooking up didn’t necessarily mean having sex, but also was not something “super serious.”
In a message to her friend, the woman named five men, including Conaway, whom she could “hit up.”
Two weeks later, she drove to Conaway’s house, where she says he raped her.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they come forward publicly.
Earlier Tuesday, former high school classmate Carey Karl, who described the accuser as her best friend, recounted a text exchange with her shortly before she met Conaway.

“I know that he just wants to have sex so I don’t know how to feel about that to be honest,” the woman wrote. She also indicated that she had told Conaway that she was not comfortable with “the whole hit it and quit it deal,” and that he understood.

Karl said the woman called her later that day crying, saying she wanted to talk and didn’t want to go home. The two sat for about an hour in Karl’s car before she and the woman’s mother convinced her to go to the hospital to be examined.

“She was shaking and kind of hunched over. … She told me that she had ended up having sex and that she didn’t want to,” Karl said.

A former McKinney football player has been charged with raping three female students last year at or near Bethel University in Minnesota, where he was a business student until leaving at year’s end.

Gideon Erhabor, 21, is charged with third-degree sexual conduct in connection with the alleged assaults, which took place in the fall of 2018, Minneapolis’ Star Tribune reported.

Erhabor, who attended McKinney Christian Academy, was arrested Tuesday in Collin County, where he is awaiting extradition to Minnesota. He played running back for Bethel, a private Christian university, in 2017 and 2018.

According to court documents obtained by the newspaper, Erhabor told police that in each incident the sex was consensual.

In one case an 18-year-old woman told police Erhabor had invited her to his dorm room in September 2018 to see a movie and that he forcibly kissed and groped her before raping her.

A second woman, age 19, told police she had been at a house party in October 2018 and exited the home around 2 a.m., feeling disoriented after drinking. She awoke later that morning in a friend’s apartment, she said, feeling confused about the previous night’s events.

Some weeks later, she said, Erhabor entered her room and climbed into her bed. When she declined his requests for sex, she said, Erhabor told her they had had sex at the previous month’s house party.

Erhabor continued to pursue her aggressively after that, the documents said, in spite of her repeated rejections.

In the third case, a 21-year-old student said she had been at a house party in December with several friends and recalled mingling for about a half hour before blacking out. She awoke the next morning groggy and queasy, she said, feeling genital pain.

She told her resident assistant the next day that she had not wanted to have sex with Erhabor.

Both the 19- and 21-year-old filed sexual assault reports with the university. However, a university administrator would not tell the Star Tribune whether the school had disciplined Erhabor at all.

“These charges themselves are extremely serious, and it is clear to the people that these were committed against the most vulnerable victims in society,” Owen said after the court appearance.

“The fact that they had the courage to come forward and report these criminal offenses, we took them very seriously, and the moment that we were able to proceed with the filing of charges we did so,” he said.

Winslow allegedly committed the sex crimes against two women that he lured into his Hummer H2 in Encinitas on March 17 and May 13, Owens said in court. Prosecutors allege that he raped the women, ages 54 and 59, and threatened to kill them if they reported what happened.

Winslow also is accused of approaching a 55-year-old woman who was gardening outside her home in May and allegedly followed her and exposed himself, before she ran inside the home and called 911.

The former NFL player also stands accused of entering the mobile home of a 71-year-old woman on June 1 but left after he was confronted. Days later he repeated the move, allegedly entering another mobile home of an 86-year-old woman on June 7 but was caught by a neighbor and arrested for burglary a short time later, Owens said. No one was hurt in those burglary cases, but Owens told reporters that the intent was not theft but the commission of a sex offense.

Winslow’s attorney, Harvey A. Steinberg, did not return a request for comment on Friday.

At the time of the June 7 burglary arrest, Winslow’s publicist said an “overreactive neighbor” called police in that incident.

The publicist, Denise White of EAG Sports Management, on Friday released a statement from Winslow’s family that said they support him and that “we know the true facts will come out.”

In arguing that Winslow be held without bail, Owens said that the San Diego Sheriff’s Department had Winslow under “continuous surveillance” after he posted bond following the June 7 burglary arrest, and that the sheriff’s department learned he was trying to sell the Hummer H2 vehicle — which is where authorities say two of the women were raped.

“It appears as though he was attempting to be able to destroy potential evidence,” Owens said.

Winslow spent 10 seasons in the NFL from 2004-13 with Cleveland, Tampa Bay, New England and the New York Jets. The former University of Miami star is also the son of NFL Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow Sr.

Once NFL’s highest-paid tight end, Winslow was suspended in 2013 by the Jets for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. In November of that same year, he was arrested after a woman told police she saw him masturbating in a parked car outside of a New Jersey department store, the Associated Press reported. Winslow was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana, and the charge was dropped after he completed court-ordered terms.
