In 2019, Jacksonville Jaguar linebacker Telvin Smith told the Jaguars that after a five-year NFL career he was retiring so that he could “get his world” in order.

It looks like that never happened. The 2017 Pro Bowl player has now been accused of having sex with a minor according to Bleacher Report.

The 29-year-old Valdosta, Fl. native was drafted by the Jags in 2014 out of Florida State University a football powerhouse. Smith was signed to a 4-year, $45M extension in 2017.

According to TMZ, the arrest is related to an ongoing case from November 2019 when Smith was arrested after police came to his Jacksonville area home. The Jacksonville sheriff’s office tweeted about a raid on a marijuana growing outfit in a residential home that netted more than 50 pounds of ‘processed marijuana’ and $5700. But Smith was never identified as the person whose house was raided so that could have been a completely different case.

Now he’s accused of having sex with a 17-year-old multiple times and the Cadillac Escalade seized in the earlier raid has revealed a DNA match with the girl, according to TMZ. They also cite court documents that say Smith met the girl at her workplace and despite co-workers telling him she was underage, he continued to pursue her.

The Escalade is one of the places they allegedly had sex. Smith reportedly offered the girl $200 which she refused but then took $100 to buy emergency contraception according to arrest documents. She ultimately told her family about the encounters ultimately leading to today’s arrest.

Smith was arrested for “unlawful sexual activity with certain minors” and booked on $50,003 bail.

Smith played 76 games for the Jaguars and had 7.5 sacks, 586 total tackles, nine interceptions, six fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles, returning four turnovers for touchdowns.

Smith’s Instagram is set to private but after Kobe Bryant‘s death in January, he posted about not being able to imagine anything happening to his 5-year-old daughter and that he “didn’t want the next 5 years to go like the last 5.” And he added “I gotta get this right for her.”

The Jaguars, to whom Smith is still attached as he’s on their reserve/retired list according to Bleacher Report, released a statement that said:

“The Jaguars are aware of the report involving former linebacker Telvin Smith. The club is unable to comment further on this ongoing investigation.”

Former NBA player J.J. Hickson, allegedly broke into the Georgia home of a teen and brutally beat him before stealing his stash of belongings and cash worth $100,000, reports the Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old NBA baller reportedly made more than $26 million over the course of his career, but police charged Hickson with armed robbery and for the brutal assault of a 17-year-old that was so severe that the boy was left with broken bones.

“The victim was beat up pretty good and they took some personal items from the residence,” said Captain John Kennedy from the Coweta County Sheriff department where Hickson is being held in the Coweta County jail without bond.

Hickson is said to have attacked the teen after entering the home through a side door. He shielded his face and head so he would be recognizable. But police were still able to locate him.

“And at that point in time through the help of a canvass we were able to identify a suspect and a suspect vehicle. We were able to identify a suspect from that.” According to a Sheriff’s spokesperson, two people were “involved” in the attempted robbery, however, only Hickson faces charges.

The violent home invasion happened in Senoia, Georgia. Hickson is awaiting trial. There is no word on why the teen was targeted.

Some say Hickson had a promising career but he never turned out to be the superstar that the Cleveland Cavaliers intended him to be when he was drafted in 2008. Hickson played for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards during eight NBA seasons.

Last year he played in the Lebanese Basketball League.

The family of former NFL player Kellen Winslow are standing by him after he was charged with rape and kidnapping last week

And now his family is speaking out in his defense.

“On behalf of our son and my husband, we want to reiterate our love, support and affection for him during this difficult process,” the 34-year-old’s father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow Sr., and wife Janelle said in a joint statement released on Friday.

“We will always be there for him and we know the true facts will come out.”

The Former NFL player who said he was house hunting and arrested without cause, now faces a slew of charges that include allegedly raping elderly women, misconduct, kidnapping and burglary, sodomy and indecent exposure.

The charges are connected with the burglary charges leveled against the former player last week. Winslow was allegedly walking into a home in a Southern California mobile home park when a neighbor got suspicious and made a 911 call and reported that the home was being burglarized.

Winslow Jr. has since pleaded not guilty. The rape charges include at least five women from ages 54 to 86 years old. The time period of the rapes reported happened between March and June.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, police claim Winslow preyed on women who were hitchhiking and then took them to remote locations where assaulted them.
